Roland Kölsch

Managing Director

Practical relevance, interest and innovation characterise the career of the founder of MSO: “Success does not come from plans, but from their targeted implementation with agile adaptation to changing conditions. We support this with our solutions.

After successfully completing his studies in industrial engineering, Mr Kölsch went into management consultancy, where he became interested in quality and quality management as part of a 2-year quality assurance project in the IT sector. In 1996, Mr Kölsch trained with the DGQ as a quality manager and auditor for quality management systems and successfully implemented the topic of quality management as a consulting product for companies and organisations, regardless of their size and sector.

In 1996, he set up his own business, MSO Consulting. At the same time, he was appointed auditor and audit manager for the certification of management systems.

The software solution for action management (MSO Master) developed by Mr Kölsch from his consulting practice was used from 2002 onwards to make consulting projects significantly more efficient, to increase transparency about topics and measures in the company and to fulfil standard requirements for CIP processes in a compliant and verifiable manner.

Following a relocation, MSO Consulting GmbH was founded in Munich in 2003. Due to the high demand for a web-based solution for action management, Mr Kölsch founded MSO Solutions GmbH in 2007, where the web-based application MSO Maestro was successfully developed. Mr Kölsch’s personal goal in developing the new software was and still is to improve all the issues that bothered him about software and software projects from his professional project and user experience. In particular, Mr Kölsch was annoyed by the fact that projects often have a long and complex start-up phase, offers and contracts do not disclose all the costs incurred and even small changes are associated with long waiting times and disproportionately high costs.

This is still reflected today in the company philosophy that projects should be quick and simple, costs must be transparent and it must be easy to make adjustments yourself. And that attention is paid to values and good, sustainable relationships.
